An Area Agency on Aging (AAA) is a public or nonprofit private agency chosen by the State to carry out the Older Americans Act at your local level. Like its counterpart at the state level, the AAA serves both as the advocate and visible focal point in its planning and service area to foster the development of more comprehensive and coordinated service systems to benefit older individuals.

What does Area Agency on Aging?

AAAs have a clear responsibility to assure that supportive and nutrition services are made available to older persons in the communities where they live. Significantly, it is through the AAAs that most Older Americans Act services are funded, implemented, coordinated, expanded, and updated.
